Maryse Hebert
MA, Clinical Director, Supervisor & Registered Psychotherapist (Independent Practice)
**Maryse is not currently accepting new clients
Maryse is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Alberta in the Bachelors of Arts Program in Psychology, where she assisted with research in the social psychology department studying interpersonal relationships. She received her Masters degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and also received her Level 2 certification from the highly acclaimed PACT Institute in California (Psychobiological Approach to Couple’s Therapy).
Maryse founded Aura Counselling Services in 2021, and has a special focus on helping her clients improve their interpersonal relationships through both individuals and couples counselling. In her individual work with clients, she often helps youths and adults work through childhood and attachment traumas, PTSD, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, codependency, self-esteem/body image, people pleasing and shame. In her couple’s work, she provides support to couples navigating infidelity, breaches of trust, intimacy and communication struggles, conflict management and disconnection.

As an Attachment and Cognitive- Behavioural Therapist, Maryse focuses on exploring the roots of core issues through exploration of family histories to foster self-awareness and understanding. Her approach combines hands-on tools and interventions designed to reduce immediate concerns, develop life-long coping strategies, and build resilience. This process not only improves self-esteem and interpersonal relationships but also promotes long-term, meaningful and lasting change. Therapy with Maryse is both emotionally explorative and solution focused.
Maryse’s primary therapeutic approach with couples is called the Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy (PACT) which focuses on improving interactions between couples. Her goal is to help couples notice their reactions as they occur and learn how to better address one another's attachment needs. Instead of looking at the content of conflict, we look at each partner's psychobiological capacities to remain self-regulated and to maintain safety and security through effective mutual regulation. She also pulls from other approaches including Emotional-Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Approach.
Maryse is dedicated to helping her clients achieve their therapy goals, and offers a caring and non-judgmental space to consult and express your needs. Maryse is supportive and compassionate, and truly passionate about her work.
